(LAUREL, Ind.) – Family and friends gathered to show their support and appreciation for a Laurel business owner on Sunday.
Danny Mullins owns Mullins Motorsports and friends say he is currently facing a difficult cancer battle.
Mullins is described as the heartbeat of motorsports in the area and has made a tremendous impact on those he has met.
It didn’t matter if a race was local or in another state, Mullins has been the guy that everyone knows and has a way of connecting with people at tracks all over the region, friends said.
Brian Corbin is a family member and said Danny’s shop isn’t just a place to build machines, the true purpose has always been to build trust and friendships.
“He built a place where anyone could walk in and feel welcome. If you needed a hand, he offered it. If you needed a tool, he passed it over without hesitation,” Corbin said.
He added, “Mullins Motorsports reflects who he is: honest, hardworking, generous, and full of heart. But beyond the racing and the shop, Danny is a great man in the ways that matter most.”

On Sunday, friends and family members organized a dirt bike and ATV parade that stopped by the shop.
“It was a message to Danny that he is respected, appreciated, and surrounded by people who care about him deeply as he faces some of the hardest days of his life,” Corbin told The 812.
Mullins has three children and is described as a devoted father, brother and proud grandfather.
While it is a difficult diagnosis, Danny is still fighting and is still surrounded by loving family and friends.
“And this community stands with him not out of sympathy, but out of gratitude. Because men like Danny don’t just pass through life quietly. They leave marks. They build legacies. They shape people. And they remind us what it means to show up for one another,” Corbin said.
Corbin added, “He is appreciated more than words can ever fully capture. And we’re all holding him close in our hearts.”
