(NORTH VERNON, Ind.) – A local toddler is fighting against childhood cancer as a benefit will be held in October.
Jameson McNicholas has Hepatoblastoma which is a rare liver cancer that primarily affects young children.
He has undergone several chemotherapy and radiation treatments over the past few months and is currently receiving treatments at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital.
Jameson will turn just 2-years-old in November and will likely have a long road to recovery.
His mother, Genevieve, is a nurse at the Our Hospice location in North Vernon.
She has been forced to take an extended leave of absence to care for her child.
Her coworkers at Our Hospice have organized a fundraiser event to support this family in their time of need.
The benefit for Jameson will be held at the AmVets North Vernon beginning at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday, October 4.
It will feature a cornhole tournament, silent auction items, and a 50/50 raffle.
Organizers are currently seeking more donations that they can auction off. All proceeds will go toward the McNicholas family.
Donations of auction items can be dropped off at the Our Hospice location which is at 735 N. State Street in North Vernon.
