(METAMORA, Ind.) – A benefit event is being planned for a Metamora infant who has dealt with immense health issues in his young life.
5-month-old Lincoln is the son of Cheyenne Taylor and Jacob Vest and is the youngest of three children.
He was born with a complex congenital heart defect and has already undergone multiple procedures including two open heart surgeries.
Lincoln's prolonged hospitalization has led to a significant financial burden for the family with more surgeries on the horizon.
“His parents have exhausted their paid leave, resulting in unpaid absences from work, and have incurred substantial expenses traveling between their home in Metamora and the hospital in Cincinnati,” a family member said.
Family members and friends have launched a unique fundraiser that will be held at the Metamora Church of God from 4-10 p.m. on Saturday, July 25.
It will feature fireworks, food trucks, a bounce house, basket raffles, a pulled pork dinner and other activities.
The large firework show is being fully donated by Circle City Pyro.
The community is invited to this fundraiser and support the young family as they navigate this difficult time.
“Lincoln is a true fighter and continued to show incredible strength every single day,” organizers added.
