(BATESVILLE, Ind.) – A fundraiser has been launched for a nurse who is undergoing surgery.
25-year-old Kacie Biggs, of Batesville, will have reconstructive foot surgery and is expected to miss upwards of 3 months of work.
Biggs is typically on her feet for 12-hour shifts while helping patients at Heritagespring in West Chester. She will now be the one being cared for.
Her best friend, Courtney Fite, has created a Go Fund Me in an effort to support Biggs through the recovery.
“To make matters even more difficult, her short-term disability claim was denied, leaving her family without her income during this time,” Fite said.
She added, “As a mother of three, this has created an overwhelming financial burden for her. She still has rent, utilities, groceries, insurance, and everyday expenses that won’t stop while she’s recovering.”
