(LAWRENCEBURG, Ind.) – A local girl is hoping to sell lemonade for a great cause this weekend.
9-year-old Johanna Shoemaker is operating the lemonade stand in Lawrenceburg from Friday through Sunday.
Shoemaker is donating everything she earns to the National Children’s Cancer Society. Her goal is to raise $1,000.
She came up with this idea all by herself after learning that her grandmother had cancer.
“It must be hard for the parents and the kids [who have cancer] and Jesus and God just told me to do this,” Johanna said.
The lemonade stand is located at the corner of Fourth Street and Shipping Street, which is across from the Dearborn County Animal Clinic.
It’s open from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Friday and Saturday and then 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday. A cup of lemonade will cost just $1.
