(MOORES HILL, Ind.) – The Greendale Middle School boys cross country team is continuing their successful season.
The team earned a first place trophy at the South Dearborn Invitational on Saturday. There were 10 different teams who competed.
The boys’ team was led by seventh grader James Pursell who set a course record of 10:36.
He was followed by Greendale’s Henry Gilliland, Elijah Noppert, Brenden Wurtzler, and Miles Lightner. Some other notable performances were Jude Noppert, Liam Reade, and Lucas Ashcraft.
On the girls’ side, Ava Shelton and Lily Kearns both punched their tickets to the Indiana Middle School State Championships.
“I am very proud of the hard work and dedication these runners are putting in this year. Their commitment in practice and on race day continues to pay off, and I can’t wait to see how they perform at conference and state,” said head coach Justin Noppert.
The team will now prepare for the conference championship in Greensburg on September 29, which will be followed by the Indiana Middle School State Finals on October 4.
