(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – The Decatur County Animal Shelter is being forced to evacuate due to flooding concerns.
The shelter said it is seeking families who can foster an animal for two days.
“Our Pets and staff safety must always come first. These decisions do not come without well thought through evaluations or risks. After consulting with county officials, we have determined this is the safest course of action,” the shelter said.
They added if you have a cat coming for Trap-Neuter-Return, bring them to the cattle barn at the fairgrounds by 7 a.m. Thursday.
A Flood Watch is currently in effect until Thursday afternoon as more rain is expected tonight and tomorrow morning.
