Greensburg artist needs votes in national competition

(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – A Greensburg artist is competing in a national contest that was organized by actor Johnny Depp. 

Lindsay Padgett is a portrait painter and is competing in The People’s Artist competition. 

One exceptional artist will win $25,000, appear in a magazine and have their artwork displayed at The Art of Elysium's Salon in Los Angeles. 

Padgett is a 2010 South Decatur graduate who earned a degree in graphic design. 

Lindsay says she would make good use of the money if she wins.

“After paying my medical bills, I would like to help some people in my life with their hardships,” she said.
