(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – A Greensburg business is facing a disruption due to the ongoing road construction.
U.S. 421 between South Poplar Street and East McKee Street is undergoing a bridge deck overlay project that is expected to last until mid-July.
Five Points Tire Service is located within the construction zone and has been directly impacted.
“While we understand the need for roadwork and infrastructure improvements, this closure has created challenges for our business and concerns regarding public safety,” they said.
The business remains open during construction and is accessible by using the alternate routes of South Vine Street or South Wilder Street.
Five Points is also raising awareness about a safety issue as some drivers are using their parking lot to turn around, often at unsafe speeds.
“There have been several close calls involving our customers’ vehicles, employees, and property due to drivers failing to slow down or use caution,” they said.
They are hoping the community continues to support their business while also reminding drivers to be aware of the road closure.
“Our goal is simply to help raise awareness — not only that our business is still open, but also to encourage motorists to be more attentive, slow down, and drive safely in the area surrounding the closure,” they said.
