(CHARLESTOWN, Ind.) – The Class 3A #1 Greensburg Lady Pirates had their biggest test of the season on Saturday night.
They faced off against Washington who is also in the top ten in Class 3A.
The Pirates took a 25-22 into halftime before Washington came back and took the lead at one point in the third quarter.
But Greensburg retook the lead and never looked back. They hit several clutch free throws in the fourth quarter to solidify the 50-43 victory and earn the Regional trophy.
The Semi-State drawings will take place at 2 p.m. Saturday.
Greensburg and South Decatur are the only two teams in our area to earn a Regional girls basketball championship this year.
