Greensburg husband, wife both battling cancer

A fundraiser has been created to help

(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – A husband and wife in Decatur County are battling cancer at the same time.

73-year-old Robert O’Sullivan was diagnosed with prostate earlier this year.

His wife, Pam, has recently been diagnosed with Stage 4 Non Small Cell Adenocarcinoma.

She says the cancer has metastasized from the lungs to her lymph nodes, spinal cord, hip bones, and brain.

“She has just completed two weeks of brain radiation to slow and decrease the side effects of the brain lesions and is set to begin chemotherapy to attempt to give her a more comfortable and longer life with us,” her family said.

The rising medical bills and other costs associated with the treatments has led family members to create a fundraiser.

“We are humbly opening up this Go Fund Me with the full knowledge and understanding that the cost of living is a challenge for everyone right now. If you do have the means to donate anything or even the time and platform to share the link to this fundraiser, we deeply appreciate your generosity and kindness,” the family said.

Robert is also known as "Opie" and is an Air Force veteran who retired after working 30 years at Delta Faucet in Greensburg. Family members say he also battles Parkinson’s and Dementia.

Pam worked as a medical assistant but is currently disabled due to Epilepsy and Lupus, the family added.

You can make a donation to help this couple by clicking the Go Fund Me link here.
