(NEW ALBANY, Ind.) –The Greensburg Lady Pirates are one game away from the IHSAA Class 3A State Championship!
They beat Evansville Central in the first round of Semi-State on Saturday afternoon in New Albany.
The Lady Pirates were leading 19-15 at the end of the first quarter before dominating the second quarter to take a 48-31 lead into halftime.
They continued to pile it on in the second half and were leading 73-49 early in the fourth quarter. Evansville Central had a brief comeback but it was too much to overcome as the Lady Pirates secured the 83-71 victory.
Head coach Jason Simpson’s squad is led by Leah West, Mylie Wilkison, Emma McQueen, Claire Larrison, Mary Harmon and Aly Powers.
They have their biggest test of the season tonight when they face Roncalli at 8 p.m.
Roncalli defeated Cathedral 72-54 earlier today. The winner of Greensburg/ Roncalli will advance to the IHSAA Class 3A State Championship next Saturday.
