Carousel Play & Learn Center held Literacy Night on Friday

(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – A Greensburg daycare opened its doors to the community for a Literacy Night on Friday.
Carousel Play & Learn Center had six volunteers read books to children and parents in attendance.
The volunteers included Greensburg Mayor Joshua Marsh along with Sue Auffenberg, Virginia “Jenny” Jones, Robin Lozier, Brian Robbins, and Bailey Yeager.
Lola Vandrey is the director of Carousel Play & Learn and she said the inaugural event was a success.
“Reading is one of the most important foundations to learning, and children who are read to regularly at an early age are at a greater advantage for educational success during their lives.”
Vandrey said she plans to establish these literacy nights as a regular, annual event at the center, and she hopes future events will be an even greater success.
