Greensburg Pirates win first regional since 2012

(MADISON, Ind.) – The Greensburg Pirates baseball team is advancing to Semi State for the first time since 2012. 

The Pirates faced Scottsburg in the Regionals in Madison on Saturday afternoon.

It was a scoreless game until the fourth inning when Scottsburg scored one.

In the bottom of the fourth, Caleb Greiwe hit a 3-run homerun to cap off a Pirates 8-run fourth. 

Greensburg never looked back as they 10-run ruled Scottsburg with a sac fly in the bottom of the sixth. 

The Pirates will face Jasper in the Semi State next weekend.
