(GUILFORD, Ind.) – A Dearborn County native has just been selected in the NFL Draft!
Max Klare was picked by the Los Angeles Rams in the 2nd round of the draft on Friday night.
Klare is from Guilford and attended St. Xavier High School where he was a standout football and baseball player.
The tight end played three seasons at Purdue before transferring to Ohio State this past year.
Last season, he played in all 14 games for the Buckeyes and ranked third on the team in receptions and receiving yards.
Shortly after getting drafted, Klare was interviewed by Adam Grosbard who is a Rams beat writer for the LA Daily News and Orange County Register.
Klare was asked how he feels about joining quarterback Matthew Stafford and the Rams offense.
"I couldn’t be more excited to be alongside him, learn from him, learn from the guys within the building and be a part of that team. It’s going to be a cool feeling to be out there with those guys,” Klare told Grosbard.
Klare is part of the Maxwell family that resides in Guilford.
