Had a unique incident involving a bull and some children
(GREENDALE, Ind.) – Longtime Greensburg history teacher John Pratt is back with 2025’s first edition of History In The 812!
Pratt traveled to Greendale to share the story of police officer Nicholas Oberting who lived from 1849 to 1928.
Oberting had a unique incident involving a bull and some children that led to him going “viral” in 1906. This story even inspired at James Whitcomb Riley poem.
