Inaugural softball event for moms and ladies over 30

(BRIGHT, Ind.) – An inaugural softball event this weekend in Bright is for moms and ladies over 30 only! 

Tiffany Wheeler came up with this idea as a way for women to take a break from parenthood and the daily grind of life to do something fun. 

“It started out as mom’s wanting to have a day for us to play because we are all in the thick of parenting and working around our kids schedules,” Wheeler said. 

It will be a double-header on Sunday with the first game at 1 p.m. and the games will be played at Bright Meadows Park. 

Wheeler said dads will be grilling out at the park while kids will be spectators. 

“The kids will get a chance to watch their moms play and cheer us on like we do them at all of their sporting events,” Wheeler added. 

While the two teams are already spoken for this year, Tiffany hopes to make this an annual tradition and invite more moms.
