(METAMORA, Ind.) – Indiana Lieutenant Governor Micah Beckwith has high praise for the Town of Metamora.
Beckwith visited the canal town on Thursday to explore historic attractions like The Grist Mill and the Duck Creek Aqueduct.
“I would encourage families, homeschool groups and schools to come down here and see what is here. You can see what we are as Hoosiers, where we come from, and that helps us understand where we’re going,” Beckwith told The 812.
The visit was organized by State Representative Lindsay Patterson and Franklin County Council Member Brian Patterson.
Indiana State Senator Jeff Raatz, Franklin County Tourism Director Bev Spurlin and Alan Stenger were also among those in attendance.
The lieutenant governor also attended the Lincoln Day Dinner in Brookville on Thursday night.
