Initiative launched to bring more businesses to Brookville

(BROOKVILLE, Ind.) – An initiative is underway to attract new businesses to downtown Brookville.
Main Street Brookville has launched “Be Bold in Brookville” in an effort to bring aspiring entrepreneurs, existing business owners, and creative innovators to town.
A total of five applicants will be selected this year. They will receive lease assistance, an 8-week training course, mentorship and technical assistance, marketing and potential storefront space.
Applicants must be at least 18-years-old, demonstrate the ability to operate a business, participate in the Business Bootcamp and be willing to locate Brookville’s Main Street district.
Main Street Brookville listed a number of high-priority businesses:
Mercantile-style general goods
Bike shop (sales, service, rentals)
Sporting goods
Men’s apparel or accessories
Children’s boutique or specialty retail
Tea room or small café
Candy store or sweet shop
Bakery
Restaurant introducing a new concept to town
Quilting or crafting
Specialty entertainment (gaming, hobby shop, escape room, creative experiences)
Artist or maker-focused businesses
Other creative, feasible, and community-enhancing concepts are also encouraged.
Proposals are being accepted until April 20 and they can be emailed to
info@mainstreetbrookville.org, mailed to Main Street Brookville, Inc., PO Box 61 Brookville, IN 47012 or delivered in person at 632 Main Street in Brookville.
Proposals must include a Business Concept Overview, Market Feasibility, Operational Plan, Financial Plan, Timeline and Space Needs.
