Was brought to facility from several hours away

(RISING SUN, Ind.) – A young Bobcat was rescued over the weekend and taken to the Red Wolf Sanctuary in Rising Sun.
The female bobcat was brought to the facility from a few hours away, after it was found injured alongside the road.
Red Wolf Sanctuary founder Paul Strasser says the animal was very thin and dehydrated when it arrived.
The crew at Red Wolf gave the bobcat fluids and food, and there was also a complete medical exam performed.
“There does not appear to be any broken bones. She probably got thumped by a car a couple nights before rescue. Very thin and dehydrated she got another round of fluids, vaccines and pain medication,” Strasser said.
The Red Wolf Sanctuary is a nonprofit that is dedicated to the preservation of North American wildlife. It is home to several wolves, foxes, coyotes, bobcats, birds and even a bear.
They offer tours and rely on donations from the community to continue serving the animals.
