(COLUMBUS, Ind.) – The Indiana State Police is investigating an incident at the Bartholomew County Jail.
A female inmate was found unresponsive in a jail cell on Saturday.
Officers say they provided emergency aid and the woman was rushed to the hospital in serious condition.
“The Bartholomew County Sheriff requested the Indiana State Police to investigate the incident to determine what led to the female being found unresponsive,” ISP Sgt. Stephen Wheeles said.
Investigators do not believe foul play was involved as the condition of the woman is currently not known.
