Story Hunts: Explore the library and earn some Summer Reading Challenge prize tickets with July's Story Hunts. The story at the Lawrenceburg Main Library will be Story Hunt: Tiny T. Rex and the Impossible Hug by Jonathan Stutzman and at North Dearborn Branch Library Here We Go Digging for Dinosaur Bones by Susan Lendroth. During open hours. All ages. Free.
Summer LEGO Building Contest: Create a dinosaur-themed scene with LEGOs to celebrate the summer reading challenge Unearth a Story. Stop by the main library to pick up the rules and release form. Deadline is Sat., July 18. Every participant will receive a mini LEGO figure. Top three entries as voted on by staff will receive a LEGO building kit. All ages. Build Your Own 3D T-Rex: Do you love dinosaurs? Come build your own 3-D T-Rex on the 3-D printer in the Lawrenceburg Public Library District’s Innov812 Workshop. Choose the color of your T-Rex and watch as the design comes to life. Once completed, punch out the pieces and build your T-Rex. All Shapes and Sizes: Indiana’s Ferns: Learn about Roger Hedge's fascination with Indiana's approximately 80 species of ferns and what makes them different from other plants. Registration is requested, not required. Hedge is a retired field ecologist from the Indiana Natural Heritage Data Center's DNR Division of Nature Preserves. Historical Book Club: Take a book back in time! This month, we will be reading By the Fire We Carry: The Generations-Long Fight for Justice on Native Land, by Rebecca Nagle.
