(LAUREL, Ind.) – A large portion of Laurel has been affected by the catastrophic floods on Thursday.
The number of people displaced and the long-term needs of the community are still be accessed.
One building that was severely damaged is the Laurel Pentecostal Holiness Church on Charles Street.
“The flood took a heavy toll on our community space. It ruined all the Sunday school rooms, the living quarters for our evangelist, and the sanctuary,” the church said.
All of the musical instruments were also destroyed by the historic flood.
The church hopes to repair and rebuild and is asking for support. A fundraiser has been launched which you can view by clicking here.
