(LAWRENCEBURG, Ind.) – The Lawrenceburg Police Department held a retirement party for two beloved K-9’s on Tuesday.

Police officers, City administrators and community members gathered for a special retirement party this afternoon that featured treats for humans and the dogs.

The two dogs have a combined 20 years of service and have accounted for more than 200 arrests.

K-9 Siri

K-9 Siri is 12-years-old and has been with the department for 10 years. She currently serves alongside Sergeant Greg Cannon and previously served with Roger Houston.

Siri has been involved in approximately 375 deployments and has assisted in nearly 135 arrest cases throughout her career.

She once located a wanted suspect in the crawl space of a home and also discovered drugs in that house.

Siri has earned several awards through competitions for Best overall K9 team, Narcotics, Patrol and Fast Dog.

“The accomplishments of Kilo and Siri speak for themselves, but their true impact goes far beyond awards, deployments, and arrests. For the past decade, they have worked alongside their handlers and fellow officers, responding when called upon and helping protect the citizens of Lawrenceburg and Dearborn County,” the department said.

Both dogs will now enter retirement at their handler's homes and are expected to enjoy treats, belly rubs and relaxation.

"Their service has made a difference in countless situations, and their presence will certainly be missed throughout the Lawrenceburg community," the department added.
