(LAWRENCEBURG, Ind.) – The Lawrenceburg Power Plant will likely soon be under new ownership.
The power plant is part of a definitive agreement to be purchased by Houston-based Talen Energy Corporation.
Talen has agreed to acquire the Lawrenceburg plant as well as two energy stations in Ohio for a price of $3.5 billion.
The company said the acquisitions will add approximately 2.6 gigawatts of natural gas generation capacity to Talen’s portfolio.
The transaction is expected to be complete later this year and requires federal and state regulatory approvals.
