(ADEL, GA.) – Lawrenceburg native J.R. Todd is continuing a successful 2026 NHRA season.
The Funny Car driver competed in the NHRA Southern Nationals this weekend where he made some history.
He had a run on Friday that reached 339.28 miles-per-hour, which is the fastest of his career and the fourth fastest Funny Car run of all time.
Todd’s performance this weekend has boosted him to the top of the NHRA Funny Car standings as he has a 3-point lead over Ron Capps.

He won the 2018 NHRA Funny Car Championship and has 22 national event wins including nine Top Fuel victories and 13 Funny Car wins.
You don’t have to travel far to see J.R. Todd as he will likely be among the racers at the U.S. Nationals in Indianapolis from September 2-7.
