(LAWRENENCEBURG, Ind.) – Are you a musician or have an affinity for collecting vinyl records?
River Dog Music Collective in downtown Lawrenceburg is not only a destination for music lovers, but also a great place for lunch or a drink.
David Lacey has been a musician nearly his entire life and realized that a music store would be the perfect addition to the downtown area.
“With the Liberty Theater and all the music and events that are taking place down here, this is exactly where we wanted to be,” he recalled.
He and his wife, Susie, started forming a business plan and came up with a creative addition.
They also obtained a liquor license and developed a unique, affordable dinner menu.
David said, “We wanted to do something that nobody else was doing, so we thought, what about gourmet hot dogs?”
River Dog Music Collective offers a lunch menu that you won’t find anywhere else in Southeast Indiana:

This shop is a hub for musicians of any skill level.
Whether you’re a guitarist, bass player, drummer or singer - River Dog Collective has the instruments and accessories that are typically only found in the bigger city.
“We created this to be a place where any musician can walk in and find what they are looking for,” Lacey said.
He also specializes in instrument repairs as well as providing lessons for musicians.
Retail and Vinyl Records
You don’t have to play music to find something you’re looking for at River Dog Music Collective.
Susie handles the retail side of the operation that includes a wide range or apparel, jewelry and other merchandise.
One of their favorite parts of the business is the wide array of vinyl records.
“We're passionate about providing the latest and greatest in the world of vinyl as our selection is constantly updated,” he said.
Lacey added, “From the crisp highs to the deep, resonant bass, you'll hear your music as the artists intended, often with improved fidelity compared to digital formats.”
River Dog Music Collective is located right next to the Liberty Theater at 221 Walnut Street.
Also, don’t miss their weekly Thumping Thursday’s Music in the Alley from 5-7 p.m. It is located in the alley between River Dog and Liberty Theater.
