(LIBERTY, Ind.) – A Liberty police officer has been involved in two separate pursuits recently.
Officer Nick Brown attempted to stop a vehicle in Liberty that was traveling at a high rate of speed, the department said.
It led to a high-speed chase where the suspect’s car eventually crashed into a cornfield off Highway 44 in Preble County, Ohio. The person was arrested and booked into jail.
There was another high speed pursuit that ended past Meyers Road on Highway 101 South.
“The driver was taken into custody and faces felony charges,” the department said.
The department did not identify the suspects involved or when the pursuits occurred.
“We commend Officer Brown for his swift action and coordination with neighboring agencies. We would like to thank Deputies Stansberry and Neal from the Union County Sheriff’s Office for their assistance and professionalism,” the department added.
The pursuits included assistance from the Preble County Sheriff’s Office and the Liberty Fire Department.
