Local ballplayer attends Savannah Banana Ball Tournament

The tournament was held in Georgia
(SAVANNAH, GA.) – A North Dearborn Elementary student had the opportunity to attend a unique baseball tournament.
10-year-old Luke Schwegman was one of the ballplayers who participated in the Banana Ball Tournament in Savannah, Georgia.
The tournament is organized by the Savannah Bananas and similar to the team, this isn’t typical baseball.
Luke was able to learn Banana-ball tricks, meet the players and participate in practices and games, and play at historic Grayson Stadium.
He even got to meet his favorite Savannah Banana player “Flash The Kid.”
Weather did impact the tournament but Luke’s mother credited the Savannah Bananas for rearranging games and making it a fun experience for the kids.
Luke also attended the inaugural Banana Ball Tournament in Cleveland in 2024 and plans to go back next summer!
