(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – Decatur County REMC partnered with the Decatur County Highway Department to educate others on power lines.
They welcomed six local highway departments to explain the dangers of working near energized power lines and how to respond safely in real-world situations.
“Opportunities like this are extremely valuable for our crews,” said Tim Ortman, Decatur County Highway Department Assistant Superintendent. “Our crews work around power lines every day, and having a demonstration like this reinforces the importance of staying aware and following proper safety practices.”
There were approximately 70 people that attended the training.
“By working together and sharing this type of training, we’re helping protect the people who serve our communities every day,” said Abby Asher with Decatur County REMC.
