Local ISP K9 to get protective vest from nonprofit

(VERSAILLES, Ind.) – A K-9 that serves in the Indiana State Police Versailles Post is receiving some protective gear. 

K9 Yadi is a 2-year-old German Shepherd/Belgian Malinois mix assigned to Trooper Clayton Saltzman. They have been patrolling the district since last December. 

A nonprofit called Vested Interest in K9’s has donated a bullet and stab protective vest to Yadi. 

This potentially lifesaving body armor is available for active K9’s and and there's been nearly 6,700 vests provided across the country. 

Vested Interest in K9s, Inc. accepts tax-deductible contributions in any amount, while a single donation of $1,050 will sponsor one vest. Each vest has a value of $1800.00, weighs an average of 4-5 lbs., and comes with a five-year warranty.
