(INDIANAPOLIS) – Two local athletes finished in the top 10 at the IHSAA Boys Track & Field State Finals on Saturday.
The competition was delayed due to weather and didn’t finish until late Saturday night. It was held at North Central High School.
Milan senior Gabe Riehle wrapped up his historic track career by finishing 10th overall in the 800 Meter Relay. His performance broke a school record that he had previously set. Riehle will continue his running career at Marian University.
Greensburg’s Jai Jackson is just a freshman but left a mark on the shot put tournament. He finished 6th overall in the entire state.

East Central senior Trevor Perkins will be on the IU Track & Field team next year. Unfortunately, he suffered an injury and was unable to compete in his events.
Some other top performers include:
East Central’s Liam Cox who placed 19th in Pole Vault
North Decatur’s Mason Kunz was tied for 20th in High Jump.
South Dearborn’s Zac Cassini placed 27th in the 100 Meter Hurdles
Jennings County’s Zachary Wahlman finished 22nd in the 800 Meter Run
