Local soldier returns home and surprises grandkids at Jac-Cen-Del

(OSGOOD, Ind.) – Two Jac-Cen-Del students got a big surprise from grandpa on Wednesday afternoon! 

Robert Garcia, of Versailles, is a Master Sergeant in the Indiana Army National Guard and serves in the 38th Infantry Division. 

He deployed for Kuwait last September where he served in the Personal Security Detail (PSD) for Distinguished Visitors and Commanding Generals. 

The time in Kuwait marked his fifth deployment! 

MSGT. Garcia safely returned home on Tuesday night and had not yet seen his two grandchildren. 

Reece and Cullen Teichman attend Jac-Cen-Del Elementary. When they came to their vehicle for pick-up on Wednesday they received a surprise greeting from grandpa!
