(SEYMOUR, Ind.) – Indiana State Police troopers from the Versailles Post conducted increased patrols this past weekend.
They focused on aggressive driving, impaired driving, and other traffic safety violations along I-65 in Jackson and Bartholomew counties.
Troopers issued 72 citations and 104 warnings during the patrol period. The majority was for speeding.
“Troopers also made one arrest for operating while intoxicated and four drug arrests were made. Troopers additionally made a felony warrant service arrest and a felony arrest of operating while a habitual traffic violator,” said ISP Sgt. Stephen Wheeles.
They also conducted several commercial vehicle inspections and assisted drivers who were in need of assistance.
“These proactive patrols are conducted to increase visibility and to reduce dangerous driving behaviors on roadways throughout the Versailles District and across Indiana,” Wheeles added.
