Longtime Switzerland Co. deputy retires after 31 years

(VEVAY, Ind.) – A longtime Switzerland County deputy is retiring after more than three decades of service to the community. 

Sergeant John Mills is an Army veteran who joined the sheriff’s department in 1995.

Monday marked his final shift and he was joined by family members for a celebration. 

The department presented him with a plaque that reads, “In recognition for 31 years of dedicated service to the Switzerland County Sheriff’s Office and the community, enjoy your retirement you’ve earned it.”
