(MADISON, Ind.) – Madison’s historic downtown and Ohio Riverfront will transform into an open-air gallery on September 26 and 27.

The 55th annual Madison Chautauqua Festival of Art will feature more than 200 juried artists from across the country who showcase and sell original, handcrafted work.

“Visitors can browse an extensive collection of fine art and artisan work, including painting, photography, ceramics, jewelry, woodworking, fiber arts and more. Participating artists are selected through a competitive jury process, creating a festival known as much for the quality of its work as for its one-of-a-kind setting,” organizers said.

The 2026 festival will also feature the new Art Park which will be located near the north lawn of the Lanier Mansion. It will serve as a children’s activity area with an interactive community art project, yard games, art kids, shaded tables and seating, and artwork from local schools.

“Designed as a place to relax, create and connect, the Art Park gives families the opportunity to take a break from exploring the festival, or stay awhile and enjoy hands-on creative activities for all ages,” organizers said.

The Madison Chautauqua was ranked #33 in Sunshine Artist Magazine’s best fine art & design events in the U.S. last year.

It will take place from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday and will also feature live music, a food festival and local shopping.
