(MANCHESTER, Ind.) – Manchester first responders are now better prepared for calls involving children.
Manchester Township Fire & Rescue has added new Handtevy pediatric bags and a software system in their ambulances and chase car.
“These bags are fully color coded and organized by age/size, allowing our crews to quickly and accurately provide life saving care to pediatric patients,” the department said.
The software allows first responders to get real-time guidance on medication dosing, equipment sizing, and critical interventions, reducing errors and improving patient outcomes when seconds matter most.
“Pediatric calls can be some of the most stressful and high risk situations we face. This system helps ensure we deliver the best, safest, and most efficient care possible to our community’s children,” they added.
