(GAITHERSBURG, MD.) – A Maryland woman’s life has turned upside down due to a typo.
According to NBC4 Washington, a funeral home accidently typed the wrong social security number for someone else who had passed away.
The social security number the funeral home submitted turned out to be for Nicole Paulino, a young woman who is alive and well in Gaithersburg, Maryland.
The small typo created a mess for Paulino that she is still working to get out of.
She wasn't allowed to renew her driver's license, her health insurance cancelled, and she also received an IRS letter addressing her as a “deceased taxpayer.”
Paulino told NBC4 Washington that medical bills are racking up and she can’t even get an inhaler needed for her asthma.
News4 received a letter from the Social Security Administration which revealed approximately 10,000 of the 3 million death reports received annually are wrong.
It appears that Paulino will get back on her feet soon as she was officially brought back to life by the Social Security Administration following the involvement from NBC4 Washington.
