(METAMORA, Ind.) – A Metamora boy is hoping to become the next National Jr. Ranger.
10-year-old August Dwyer has a passion for the outdoors and exploring.
“It is an adventure to find things in nature I haven’t seen before. The adventure of taking a new hiking trail is something I love,” he said.
If he wins the contest, August would get $20,000 plus a feature in Ranger Rick Magazine.
He added that his favorite animal is the wolf, but he also enjoys bugs, salamanders, toads and snakes.
