(METAMORA, Ind.) – A quick response from firefighters helped mitigate damage during a house fire in Metamora on Friday afternoon.
Metamora firefighters were on the scene within minutes after a kitchen fire was reported at a home on U.S. 52 near the Dollar General.
“Engine 61 arrived on scene with a crew of 5 and immediately went to work, initiating a fast and effective interior attack,” a Metamora firefighter said.
Brookville firefighters also arrived and helped contain the fire to just the kitchen area. There were no injuries reported during the incident.
The fire did impact drivers as a portion of U.S. 52 was closed for about an hour.
Other agencies that assisted were Letts EMS-Franklin County Paramedics, Franklin County deputies and Franklin County Communications.
