Metamora teen following quad racing dreams

(METAMORA, Ind.) -- A Metamora teen is getting a big opportunity this weekend as she continues to follow her dream of becoming a professional off-road women’s racer. 

Chezniee Ison was just 8-years-old when she started racing quads and credits her dad, Travis, as her biggest inspiration. 

Travis used to race quads locally and was also on the Grand National Cross Country series where he won a class championship. 

“He has worked with me so much, and has taught me everything I know about racing. He is the reason I am able to do it,” Chezniee said. 

Chezniee is now 15-years-old and quad racing has become second-nature for her and quite the passion. 

She races a few times a month in the IXCR series and practices whenever she can. That hard work has paid off so far. 

She has won her class championship for three consecutive years and is currently in first place in her youth and AM adult classes. 

Ison has now qualified for the XC Amateur National Championship that will be held this weekend in Attica, Indiana. 

It will be a big opportunity for her to show her skills alongside the top amateur quad racers in her division.  

While Chezniee is focused on the upcoming race, she is also thinking about her future. 

She hopes to be a professional women’s racer and compete in the GNCC national series, just like her dad, and to break records that are currently being set.
