Unique fundraiser supports department projects

(METAMORA, Ind.) – Drivers can support the Metamora Volunteer Fire Department without even leaving their car on Monday, May 26.
Metamora firefighters will be standing on State Road 52 near Pennington Road from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. to collect donations from cars passing by.
This unique roadside collection has been happening for several years and the proceeds used to go toward the firework show. Nowadays, the funds support department projects.
Those include projects such as the purchase of an apparatus or the new addition that is being built at the firehouse.
The new addition will soon be home to Letts EMS and it will be a 24/7 operation. It's expected to open this summer.
If you’re planning on driving on State Road 52 near Metamora on Monday, be sure to support the firefighters!
