Milan's new water tower built, will be painted this spring

It will pay tribute to the Milan Miracle

(MILAN, Ind.) – Construction has wrapped up on Milan’s new water tower but the project isn’t finished yet! 

The final step of painting will take place this spring and it will be an eye-catching sight once its complete. 

The round water tower will pay homage to the 1954 Milan Indians championship by being painted as a basketball with the inscription “Basketball Town U.S.A. Milan, Indiana.”

Town officials say they also plan to add a pocket park and basketball goals in the vicinity of the tower. 

It’s part of a $4M water improvement project as the Town has been making other upgrades, including the replacement of aging water mains, water lines and hydrants.
