(MILAN, Ind.) – A Milan resident has been named Cattleman of the Year by the Indiana Beef Cattle Association (IBCA).
Leah Meinders was given the award in recognition of her leadership, dedication, and contributions to Indiana’s beef industry.
She and her husband, Jeff, operate Clear Water Simmentals which is a purebred Simmental operation that has shown a commitment to performance-driven genetics, quality cattle, and practical beef production.
Their operation reflects a balance of innovation and sound management practices that support both commercial and seedstock producers.
Beyond the day-to-day work of their cattle operation, Leah is recognized for her involvement and leadership within the beef industry.
She is actively engaged in multiple cattle organizations and regularly hosts cattle sales, providing opportunities for education, collaboration, and advancement within the beef community.
“Leah’s approach to cattle production emphasizes continual improvement, accountability, and a willingness to share knowledge with others. Through her leadership, she has made a meaningful impact not only on her own operation, but also on fellow cattlemen and women across Indiana,” a friend said.
