(BATESVILLE, Ind.) – A Margaret Mary Health doctor has been recognized as Preceptor of the Year from the East Indiana Area Health Education Center.
Dr. Valorie Parker has practiced medicine at Margaret Mary’s Health Center in Osgood since 2020.
She has also served as a preceptor for the East Indiana Area Health Education Center since 2021 as they provide hands-on learning experiences for family medicine students.
The executive director of the East Indiana Area Health Education Center praised Dr. Parker’s commitment to teaching students.
“Dr. Parker’s students appreciate how she shares her clinical knowledge while modeling excellent communication with patients and families. They also value her practical advice on balancing the demands of being a physician and a working parent,” said Jeff Hartz.
An Osgood native, Dr. Parker received her medical degree from the IU School of Medicine and chose to return to her hometown to serve her community. She and her husband, Chris, have four young sons.
