(BATESVILLE, Ind.) – Margaret Mary Health is recognizing two employees who have gone above and beyond for others.
Kayla Kruthaupt is a nurse who's being recognized by the family of a grandfather who was hospitalized during his grandson’s wedding.
“One moment that left a lasting impression on all of us came when my dad asked Kayla for a hug. Kayla not only cared for my dad’s medical needs but also touched his heart and ours in a way we will always be grateful for,” the patient’s family said.
The family nominated Kruthaupt for MMH’s Daisy Award which is given twice a year to a nurse who shows not only clinical skills but also compassion.

MMH is also recognizing Mike Giltz who is a longtime maintenance worker for the hospital.
Giltz was recently on a lunch break when an exhaust vent broke.
“Even though Mike was on break, he came over and repaired the air handler in less than five minutes by replacing the belt. It’s actions like this that give peace of mind that our hospital is well cared for and when issues arise, they can be fixed quickly,” said an MMH employee.
Giltz has received the BEE Award which is an honor presented to non-nursing MMH associates who support patient care and outcomes.

The DAISY and BEE awards are presented twice a year and nominations can be submitted by patients, family members, providers or staff. All nominations are judged by an anonymous committee and can be sent to mmhealth.org/team-member-recognition
