Muncie teen killed in S.R. 350 crash in Aurora Tuesday

(AURORA, Ind.) – The Indiana State Police have identified a teenager as the person killed in a crash in Dearborn County on Tuesday morning. 

The crash happened around 6 a.m. in the 8900 block of State Road 350 near Mt. Sinai Road. 

Investigators say a pickup truck driven by 19-year-old Trent Laudermilt, of Muncie, struck an unoccupied disabled vehicle that was parked along the roadway.

The collision caused Laudermilt’s truck to strike a guard rail and travel down an embankment. 

A passenger in his vehicle, 19-year-old Jeffrey Cole, of Muncie, was ejected from the pickup and died at the scene. 

Laudermilt was transported to the hospital with what is believed to be non-life threatening injuries. 

“The investigation determined that neither Laudermilt nor Cole were properly restrained at the time of the crash,” ISP Sgt. Stephen Wheeles said. 

State Road 350 was closed for over four hours for crash investigation and cleanup.
