(BRIGHT, Ind.) – A subdivision in Bright holds an annual Christmas event called the Old Orchard Christmas Walk.
The event along Henderson Road typically involves neighbors donating to the North Dearborn Food Pantry.
However, this year they realized the need was for a family that typically participates in the Christmas Walk.
Ryan Weidner was recently hanging Christmas lights when he fell off a ladder. He suffered some serious injuries that required surgery and time in the ICU.
He owned his own business but is now unable to work due to the seriousness of the injuries.
It prompted neighbors Don and Karen Kuntz to encourage the subdivision to use the Christmas Walk as a fundraiser for the Wiedner family.
“Every Christmas Season we are reminded how God has Blessed us living in this great community but this year tops it with everyone's kindness and generosity,” said Ryan’s brother, Curt.
