New Marion fire chief retires after 49 years

(HOLTON, Ind.) – The New Marion fire chief has retired after nearly a half century of service.
Charles Meisberger has served as the department’s fire chief for more than 49 years.
New Year’s Eve marked his final day as fire chief as Meisberger will continue to be a member of the department.
“His commitment and steady guidance have shaped who we are today,” the fire department stated.
The New Marion Volunteer Fire Department also announced that Benjamin Smoker has been named the new fire chief.
