(GREENSBURG, Ind.) – A recent North Decatur grad has received an award in honor of Chad Holtkamp.
Holtkamp was a lifelong Decatur County resident who was a 10-year 4H member and community volunteer.
He had spina bfida, which led to health challenges throughout his life. He passed away at the age of 25 in 2005.
His family created the Chad Holtkamp Memorial Volunteerism and Community Service Award 20 years ago.
This year’s recipient was Mason Morris, a former North Decatur football and basketball player who is also a 4H member.
“Mason is a committed 4-H’er and showed it through his work ethic and drive towards excellence, especially in the swine barn,” Chad’s family said.
The award was given by Chad’s sisters, Christy Norton and Michele Holtkamp.
